Blue Heron Outfitter's |
Blue Heron Outfitters offers guided fly and light tackle anglers on the little known and seldom fished Bonefish flats of Oahu, Hawaii. Here, the average Bonefish is over 6 lbs. with 8 to 10 lb. Bonefish not uncommon! Here in Hawaii, much like other Bonefishing destinations throughout the world, the larger fish (8lbs. and over) tend to show up on the flats solo or with one or two other big fish and on certain flats during certain tides, we'll see medium sized Bonefish in schools numbering over a hundered! The Bonefish are big and just as spooky as ever, making the reward even greater.
Although Hawaiian Bonefish haven't experienced the angling pressure of other Bonefishing destinations, patience and perseverance are a must. Whether you enjoy wading the shallows of isolated flats or searching for cruising fish from the casting deck of a customized flats skiff, versatility is the key to success with this unique fishery.
The fishing in Hawaii is year-round and in addition to large Bonefish, the inshore waters of Hawaii offer angling opportunities for a variety of other species including Giant Trevally (Ulua), Bluefin Trevally (Omilu), Golden Trevally (Budaguchi), Ladyfish (Awa awa), and Barracuda. Capt. Dave Hill and Capt. Mike Hennessy are both U.S.C.G. licensed captains that specialize in fly fishing for Bonefish in Hawaii. |
